         报告人简介：

         林建文，香港理工大学电子信息工程系教授，工程学院副院长，IEEE高级会员。1987年在英国伦敦大学帝国理工学院获得硕士学位，1996年在澳大利亚悉尼大学获得博士学位，1990年至今在香港理工大学电子信息工程系任教。是APSIPA理事会成员，是多个著名国际会议(ICASSP'03、ISIMP 2004、ISPACS 2005、ICIP 2010、PCM 2010、ICSPCC 2012)的组委会成员，曾任IEEE信号处理香港分会主席(2006-2008)，是IEEE Trans. on Image Processing(SCI), Digital Signal Processing(SCI), APSIPA Trans. on Signal and Information Processing和 EURASIP International Journal on Image and Video Processing等多个期刊的副主编。2004年获Pattern Recognition期刊年度模式识别社区荣誉奖(Honorable Mention of the Annual Pattern Recognition Society Award)，2008年获Neural Networks and Signal Processing国际会议最佳论文奖。主要从事包括人脸识别、图像及视频处理和机器视觉领域的研究，发表SCI论文60余篇。

         报告摘要：In this talk, a novel face recognition approach using information about face images at higher and lower resolutions will be presented. This algorithm can avoid having to perform the interpolation/super-resolution of face images and having to extract HR Gabor features. Experimental results show that the proposed methods have a superior recognition rate and are more efficient than traditional methods.
